A. 20

B. 30

C. 40

D. 50

Discuss Work Space

Answer: option c

Explanation:

The fruit content in both the fresh fruit and dry fruit is the same.
Given, fresh fruit has 68% water. So, remaining 32% is fruit content. weight of fresh fruits is 100kg
Dry fruit has 20% water.so remaining 80% is fruit content.let weight of dry fruit be y kg.

Fruit % in fresh fruit = Fruit % in dry fruit

Therefore, (32/100) x 100 = (80/100 ) x y

we get, y = 40 kg

A. 11

B. 10

C. 9

D. 8

Discuss Work Space

Answer: option d

Explanation:

Let the total number of children be x.
Then, x * (20% of x) = 320
=> x * 20x/100 = 320
=> x^2 = 320*5
=> x=40

Number of candies received by each child = 20% of 40 = 8

A salesman gets commission on total sales at 9%. If the sale is exceeded Rs.10,000 he gets an additional commission as bonus of 3% on the excess of sales over Rs.10,000. If he gets total commission of Rs.1380, then the bonus he received is:

A. Rs.180

B. Rs.120

C. Rs.480

D. data insufficient

Discuss Work Space

Answer: option b

Explanation:

Let the Total sales = 100x
Commission @ 9% = 9x
Commission beyond 9% @ 3% (as Bonus) = (100x - 10000)*(3/100) = 3x - 300
Total commission = 9x + (3x - 300) = 12x - 300
Given, 12x - 300 = 1380
       x = 1680/12 = 140
Therefore, Bonus = 3x - 300 = 420 - 300 = 120

D. 53.2 %

Discuss Work Space

Answer: option a

Number of males = 60% of 10000
                            = 6000
Number of females = (10000 - 6000) = 4000
Number of literates = 25% of 10000 = 2500
Number of literate males = 20% of 6000 = 1200
Number of literate females = (2500 - 1200) = 1300
Required pecentage = (1300/4000 * 100 ) = 32.5 %
